A hermit thrush and an eastern phoebe visited this morning. presumably resting during eastern winds. They're both a little early--I usually see them Oct 10-15. I was particularly glad to see the phoebe since it's the first flycatcher I've seen in a year--didn't record any here all spring & I think that's the first year in 20 I haven't.
The Virginia creeper has turned red (signaling the high-quality fruit is ripe) & the flickers, jays, & robins are thrilled.
