This fall, we've been very lucky to have a number of migrants stop in the trees in our backyard to fill up on insects on their way south.
Today, we had a golden crowned kinglet as well as a pair of either pine or blackpoll warblers. The latter were very hard to ID as they didn't stay still for very long and were quite high up in the tree. One manged to catch a large bug and was still for about 10-15 seconds while devouring it, which was enough to narrow down the field, but not make a definitive ID.
