Great timing Reg!!
I've seen a RWBB attack a Heron before, popped the fish right out of the Heron's mouth.
Boy was the Heron ever mad about that. Honking and squawking like crazy.
Can you imagine, standing in one spot for over 1/2 an hour waiting for luch to wander by, the patience, the total control. You finally grab it, the BAM!!, something smacks you in the back of the head and out pops your much anticipated and well worked for meal???
It was a sight to see, let me tell you.
So your photos made me smile and think back to that day.

Great series.

Nice series! Poor GBH! Boy, those male RWBB's are something, we saw one attack a Swan at Col. Sam Smith a few weeks back, I felt bad for the Swan, I think he was swimming too close to the Red-wing's  nest, but he had a look like, "Geesh, What am I doing!?"   :o

What fun! Where is that, Reg, it looks familiar, somehow, but I can't place it...

Thanks everyone, it was interesting to see, the GBH finally gave up and left the area.
This was at Jim's pond, Second Marsh Oshawa.
