We place a small rock - large so that the smaller birds cannot move or knock it over off the platform of the feeder ...
but ever since I bought a bag of this wicked feeder at wbu the birds are acting as if they are fighting over drugs. No kidding*
we even have grackle birds and simple Starlings knocking over the stone we have keeping them from eating the entire fill in 3-5 hours !!!!! yup, must be the feed, as the sales lady says, and I know there are many more mouths to feed but we hve never seen , ever, since feeding began 3yrs ago (after out beloved cats death June 28th) that birds are this aggressive and eating so quickly. Even during this time of year when the new borns are arriving.
It is a zoo, simply a zoo. and the baby squirrels are even uprooting the flowers we planted and simply rolling around the dirt and leaving ...
What a zoo !

Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress. Laugh, eat, be merry. Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.
