Just wondered:

have any of you been down this way
yet this summer?

I love both spots
but Picton is becoming so expensive
I find to stay
the B and B's

course now is the high season
rates are up everywhere

lots to see down there

Egret :)

I only travel the #2 route

As the Wine industry continues to grow in Prince Edward County, I think we'll find that the area is only going to get more and more expensive...unfortunate for us but excellent for them!  I lived in Belleville back when the first few wineries started up and it didn't take long to notice that things were changing in Picton and the surrounding area.  It is an incredibly beautiful place to visit all the same.

I agree, highway #2 is the way to go and highway #33 from Trenton south.

The Waring House is gorgeous, never been there myself though.

The Black River area and the Black River Cheese Company.  Nowhere better, and so picturesque too!  We always made a point of stopping in for snacks when touring through the County.  I had possibly the biggest 3 scoops of ice cream ever to sit on top of a cone there.

I have a photo of the lighthouse from way out at the tip of Long Point, it's sitting on the shelf above my computer.

Great memories!

I have also stayed at the Merrill Inn
over the years and various B and B's
The Waring House have added a big building
at the back there now

I used to visit farms as well
as love the animals

Also,  the Waring now have a sister hotel
forget the name of it

ahh well anyone here of any bargains give me a shout
right now though, is high season

One of the naturalists down there told me he once
saw a Fisher
I thought they were only way up north
I have seen deer there
