I took a drive out to Kingsville on Wednesday to see the Greay Grey Owl.
It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
I hope you like the pictures I have here, but be warned, there are quite a few of them.
I could not decide on which ones to post so I just posted them all!!
Thanks for looking.

Lol Mike, I'm not that good, just lucky this time. But thank you very much....I told you to come with me...
Thanks John, much appreciated.
The eyes have it eh Paul. Nothing else matches the GGO's eyes.
Denis, it is a long day. 8 hours round trip just for driving But for this bird? I'd go twice as far. I was even going to go to drive to Minnesota this winter to see them. So this is a heck of a lot closer and about 30 degrees warmer.
Thanks folks, what a sight to see!

Can't thank you enough for posting these...they're just great and I've been looking at them over and over...was very seriously considering the drive down but was worried perhaps the bird wouldn't be around. Anyhow, you're very lucky and I'm very glad for you...really, thanks again for sharing these...

Everyone, thank you so much for all your kind words and comments.
This is truly an amazing bird to be able to see and get the chance to photograph.
I'm headed back again on Friday, I can't resist a chance to see him again!!
Thanks once again to all of you.

Hi Meghan - your enthusiasm was the last little push I needed to make the trek to Kingsville.  As you say, it was well worth the trip and I would definitely go back.  I met people from West Virginia, southern Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

I'm toldthe GGO is a female.  She hunted three times in quick succession, right in front of us; one time so close I couldn't focus.  It was a thrill to see the GGO for the first time.  Truly a remarkable looking bird.

Great shots Meghan.

Wish I could join you this Friday. Now if it was any day from next week that would be a different story. :)
