I had a report earlier this week about "a few" swans in a flooded farmers field near Hillsburg. This field is on the east side of Trafalgar Road ( county 24) north of Hillsburg, just south of County Road 3 which goes into Orangeville.
Figuring they were likely Tundras I just had to go check it out myself this afternoon.
Sure enough, there were Tundras, as well as Geese. I Counted 180 Tundras in this one field alone. Best guess on the geese were 500+.
I noticed the swans were flying around over the next field to the north and east, but couldn't see into that field.
Went further up Trafalgar Road to #3 and turned east. About a half a km east of Trafalgar there is another flooded field with about 200 more Tundras as well as a "heep" more geese. Further in beyond this field is yet another field with (best guess) another 200+ Swans.
Although you cant get close enough to see them well, I took many pics with my 200mm lens(wish I had a 400mm). On zooming in on some of these pics you can definately see the yellow spot confirming Tundra.
