While visiting the Red-headed Woodpecker today I spotted a pair of Flickers working very hard at the top this old dead tree about 30 feetup.  Also a busy Downy ( or Hairy ) - still having problems distinguishing

That's a Hairy with its large bill and completely white outer tail feathers.

Thanks Thomas,  I figured it had a fairly long bill, thus a Hairy.  Tnx also for the tail feather tip.
