No, photos should be posted here. Although the shots that have been posted are great, they clutter up the reports posts. Please post only reports in those forums and follow up with an additional posting in this forum. I know that is extra work, so I hope that those of you who want to post reports together with  photos can see the merit in this and will follow this new convention.

Andy, would you please advise where the instructions are to post photos. I notice some photos are in the post and others are links to the photos.  Is there a right and wrong way to do this?  Thanks for your help.

Hi andy, I have been off work (indef*) since Sept 09 due to long term (well before this time)  chronic pain & outburst of SEVERE migraines - VERY VERY BAD.  

Symtpom - lack of patience, focus, etc... I really do love your forum and appreciate it, it brings value to my life. I attemped to try it again with the square brackets and still, I did not nail it.  So I gave up temporarily. But I promise to prevail. Can I send you the pic & you post it?  For now at least.

I've received a few PMs regarding some of the board's photos. So, to keep things on the up and up, I ask that we follow a few simple rules:

- captive vs wild birds: if you take a picture of a bird at a sanctuary, zoo or other setting where the bird is no longer "wild", please explicitly state so in your post (either the subject line or in its initial description)
- recent vs old posts: to avoid confusions and questions, if you are posting older out-of-season photos, please explicitly state so. i.e. please don't post warbler photos in July if they were spotted in May
and finally:
- if you take the time to view someone's photo, please leave some sort of feedback. None of us are making money off of our pictures, and it won't hurt for you to compliment another birder/photographer.  I'd even encourage polite critiquing if you feel it will be productive to the poster's photography (and if you think its welcome).

Good points. Also the same should go for location (general area if exact location can't be given), particularly if the picture is taken in GTA, elsewhere in Ontario or outside of Ontario.

I'm not sure I agree with this one as a forum reader. I do enjoy viewing pictures and reading insightful or informative comments regarding the picture or the bird. However, I'm not too fond of countless "Nice pictures" and "Thank you" notes as it takes time to go through the pictures marked as unread to find new pictures and interesting comments. As some pictures have hundreds of views I sincerely hope that not everbody will follow the above advice.

Yes, no problem, even a couple of "Nice picture" comments are okay, but if a post has a couple of them already it might not be necessary to add another one.
