I was doing my list for colonel sam's on ebird when I couldn't find long-tailed duck.
Long-tailed duck was on the list of rarities. I see long tails at colonel sam's all the time.
Was this an ebird mistake?

The lists of what is rare are manually created - so there are occasional mixups like this.

Which birds are considered "rare" also varies from month to month and county to county. I also noticed that Long-tailed Duck, Bufflehead and Red-breasted Merganser were considered "rare" for Toronto in May.

I noticed that Long-tailed duck and Lesser Scaup are off the "likely" list now.  It seems a bit early to take them off the list, but it's not a huge deal.  I'm all in favour of the keeping it  short.
