I've been asked to record the birds in my backyard this year (long story).
This is difficult since a pair of Coopers have chosen the block as a nesting site, and one is perched looking for food morning, evening, when the weather is bad, or on a weekend when the weather is good.
So I'm not seeing much. (On Sunday I briefly saw a house sparrow. Today I saw my first robin. I saw a mourning dove but so did one of the Coopers.)
So I'm trying to bird by ear.
Can anyone recommend some recording equipment for the non-technically inclined, so I can, say go back & compare that house finch/purple finch/rose-breasted grosbeak complex?
Thanks.
