In spite of an invasion of hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors from the Global Marujuana March to the park this weekend, things were back to normal this Monday morning, except for piles of garbage and a few overnight campers being evicted by the police.
A ten minute strole around the park gave nothing at first. However, a few trees just east of the central statue hosted a good variety of birds. In about 20 minutes I found 8 warbler species, the best turnout so far this spring:
Cape May Warbler
Yellow Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler (5)
Black-throated green Warbler
Black-throated blue Warbler (2)
Palm Warbler (3)
Black and White Warbler
Oven bird (2)
There were also a Great crested Flycatcher, an unidentified grey little flycatcher, Ruby-crowned kinglets, and White-throated sparrows.
I'm curious why there are so few reports from this weekend?
