Is this a higher than normal year for chimney swifts?

I feel like i'm seeing them all over Toronto. Lots in east york, Yonge and eglinton and today, little italy.

anyone feel the same?

If anything, I'm seeing fewer than normal, and I saw my first a bit later than usual.  
Maybe I'm just not too swift this year! :wink:

I would have to agree, there seems to be a higher the normal number downtown.  However, I'm living in a different neighbourhood this year - full of converted warehouses (many de-commissioned chimneys) so that might the reason I'm noticing more.

I live in bloor st. west area and I've seen more than normal.

i'm hearing or seeing them daily, and all in different areas.

2-6 around broadview and danforth (or up to Pottery Rd).

today, 2 at Pape and O'Connor (pretty certain they're not the ones mentioned above)

6 or so at Eglinton and Mt Pleasant

2 at Danforth and Pape

2 above Kensington Market

around 2 at Eg West stn

I have 4-6 flying around my place near Bloor/ Dixie almost daily as with last year
