At what point of August do the songbirds start to really come into southern Ontario?

The frequency with which specific birds are seen in the various counties of Ontario (or anywhere in North America, really), can easily be answered by eBird.

http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/GuideMe?r ... tinue.y=13

Each month is broken into quarters, and the thickness of the bar shows the bird's frequency.  I hope this helps.

If you don't use the above link but, instead, want to find it on the eBird site, try >> Explore Data >> Bar Charts.

By the end of July new species will start showing up, but not in large number until about the second week of August

We are seeing alot of Swallows and Cedar Waxwings migrating already. Wed we saw a number of Baltimore Orioles for the first time this Aug. Most of them were young ones. There were tons of Saddlebags too. Bank Swallows have all left already from their home in the side of the bluffs.
