Field mice; are they super smart or super lucky? Cannot Trap

I had a large female and a small mouse in our home for the pst few days and noticed something speeding along the floor late night while watching my nature shows.

Seriously, we have had the glue traps set up in strategic places that I saw mice run, along the walls, etc.. trust me, we have lots of knowledge on this matter. The issue her is not our knowledge nor placement of these traps, both old school traps and glue alike.

2 nights ago I personally watched in total awe as my freshly placed glue trap laced with fresh cheese and small cracker (we tried peanut butter and full platters of swiss***) was avoided by a small field mouse. I jumped off my sofa and lay on my carpet in living room and we made eye contact. I gently tried to persuade him out too, vocally and in tongues. He laughed.

I lay in the corner with a direct view of the trap and finally the mouse comes out and sits there and stares at me and walks within 3 feet of my face as I left the back yard door open (screen closed) as to attract him outside. He literally walked away and hopped over the trap. I could go on but honestly its too much to fathom.

Whats goin on??  and yes we got the mom the next night as she was coming down the stairs from her bedroom condo unit. 1 more to go.  We have no holes nor entry points anyhwere and live in a clean home.

Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.

NOBODY IN KNOW BELIEVES THIS, BUT I NEED TO TELL , UPON SEEING A SMALL FIELD MOUSE APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE AND SPRINT LIGHTING FAST ACROSS OUR TV ROOM FLOOR CARPET I SET UP A FEW GLUE TRAPS + CHEESE, ALL THE FIXINGS, A NICE MIX FOR HIM AND PALS.

INCREDIBLY TO MY OWN SURPRISE I LAY IN WAIT ON MY SOFA AND HE WALKED AROUND THE SOFA WITH TRAP / CHEESE AND IGNORED IT. IN FACT, NONE OF THE TRAPS WITH FOOD WERE SUCCESSFUL !!!

THE 1 THAT WAS I PLACED STRATEGICALLY ON THE STAIRS EN ROUTE UPSTAIRS ALONG HIS PATH AND THE OTHER 10 TRAPS ARE NOT HAPPY. CAN U TELL ME WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON????

ARE THESE TRAINED MICE? SMART-MICE? ...  :?:  :?:

Try peanut butter instead of cheese

Wow, these robo-mice simply laugh at fresh cheese, p-butter, crackers, cavair, pork roast, lamb chops and cocaine.  I could not fathom it took 2 weeks to trap 2 mice.
16 stickys later.
