Well, this guy sure was a surprise to us.  A Groundhog showed up last Monday and was around right up through the weekend; haven't seen him since Saturday afternoon.  Somehow I think he's moved on.  He did a wonderful number on the clover in my grass  :) , and we watched him go at the neighbour's vegetable garden too.  We thought he was trying to set up house under the next door neighbour's back deck, where Raccoons often sleep.  The Raccoons weren't using it lately to our knowledge but returned to it over the weekend and Mr GH may have gotten the boot.

Cute little guy...looks like a young one....probably just out on is own and looking for a munching ground :D

I saw some up near carleton park and they were huge almost as big as a coon, you will have to get that new shed up and fix a small spot in the back for him :D

Our neighbours always seem to have a groundhog in their yard every year. It doesn't matter if it is the same critter or another, but we call them all Fatso. The one this year was eating their expensive, heirloom tomato plants! Yikes! We didn't see it for awhile and thought they'd chased it away, but then we saw a youngster with the adult. Fatso always has tricks up its sleeve to survive in the city.

That's a great story Leslie!

Ours has vanished.  Ah well, it was fun for a week or so.  Maybe he'll pop in again another time?

Ours has moved on it seems.  Now the neighbours are terrorized by a Skunk running around the past couple weeks.

The little guy showed up again today after a number of weeks.  He's bigger now.  Not sure where he's been but he's found his way under the neighbor's deck again.
