Saturday Aug 25 I visited Luther Marsh again.  I was hoping to see the "some 200-300 Egrets' as reported a few days earlier, but I guess you need to be viewing either real early in the morning, or near dsk as they return to the marshes.

But I wasn't dissappointed as I did see about 2 dozen Great Egrets, as well as seveal GBH, 3 Osprey, 2 Kingfishers, 1RTH, 1 Cedar Waxwing, several Eastern Kingbirds.  It was a great afternoon.

This Kingfisher perched on a rail about 25 feet in front of the viewing blind I was in, but too bad the sun was low and behind him (in my face)

Sounds like you had a great day up there and got some great photos to boot!!
I haven't been to Luther Marsh this year. Looks like I may have to head up there this week.

We visited Luther Marsh a few weeks ago.  Interesting place but pretty big and we didn't know where to go.  I guess we went in the main gate and walked that area where we saw a Loon and a couple Kingfishers,

Nice shots.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.
