Sharp Shinned from the High Park Hawk Watch

A wonderful day at the Hawk Watch at High Park-





Hard to get a good shot when they are very high up, these are cropped a fair bit.

Nice pictures, the first one looks like a juv. Sharp-shinned Hawk and the second might be a juv. Cooper's Hawk (or possibly another Sharp-shin)

They are the same bird in different flight patterns

Really? The body pattern looks very different in the two pictures, that's why it's often hard to identify a bird from a single picture. I would say Sharp-shinned Hawk then.

The winds were very erratic and so were the flight patterns, gusting winds makes for some interesting flying LOL
It was hilarious to watch some of them.
I could be wrong, but still sticking with broad winged...he was rather large as opposed to the smaller sharpei
