Unusual Northern Flicker

The day was very overcast, and I shot these at 1600 ISO, so they're quite grainy. Still, the red crown is visible-- I've never encountered this before. In fact, at first glance, I thought this was a Red-Bellied. Is this common? I've yet to find a reference for this online.
