Evening Grosbeaks at home...

Not stellar shots by any means.  But what a wonderful 10 minutes or so we had with 5 Evening Grosbeaks stopping at one of our feeders!  If the Sharp-shin didn't decide to come in who knows how long they would have stayed.  Hoping for return visits over the season!

I spent most of the time admiring these birds with my own eyes before I even attempted to put the camera on them.

Indeed they are.  Only ever seen them once before and that was up at the visitor centre in Algonquin at the beginning of this year.  There was at least 60 visiting their feeders that day.  Just blown away by the sight of them all.

Thanks everyone!  Yes, very fortunate that we were home to witness this.  And so hoping for a return.  If they became rather regular over the winter, I'd gladly invite a few people over to have a look at them.

So much nicer sitting at home with a coffee watching them than driving up to Algonquin in January.

I've heard others have been getting a moment with these birds at their feeders.  Excellent.  Now if only they will stay in one place.
