Keep an eye out in southern Ontario for these boreal beauties this winter - several have been banded as far south as Long Point/Port Rowan, and one even passed through Toronto on her way further south.
And for fun, the next two are of the bird in hand...

Yes they are a beautiful owl species. Too bad the barred owls love eating them, but thats nature at work.
