You may be right. The reason I thought she was Downy was because of her longer beak and somewhat larger size. I saw what I thought was a female Hairy Woodpecker a while back that was considerably smaller and had a shorter beak as well.
I'll show you a different pic of the above bird. The long-ish beak lead me to believe it's a Downy:
And here's the pic of what I thought was a Hairy Woodpecker (female). Notice the shorter beak and somewhat more diminutive size:
