There have been a lot of Bohemian Waxwings in and around Guelph this winter.  Today we were fortunate enough to have a flock of about 200 waxwings, mostly Bohemians, although lots of Cedar Waxwings as well, descend on our yard in South Guelph.  It was quite the invasion.

Great now I wanna go to Guelph.  Some of the coolest looking birds I have ever seen.

It was something ... we have a series of junipers that ring our backyard as well as our neighbour's, a large pine, and then some more pine trees in our neighbour's yard.  Every tree was like this.  They stayed most of the afternoon.  A lot of fun for sure.  We often get flocks of 30 or 40 cedar Waxwings.  But we've never had an influx like this.

Lucky you.
So are you inviting us to your backyard? I could bring beer or coffee... :)

I'm fond of both!  in the morning bring coffee, afternoon bring beer   :D

Although quite sadly, they moved off late in the afternoon.  There are still berries so maybe they will be back

Beautiful birds! We see Cedar Waxwings quite often on the trails by the Grand River but have never spotted these guys.
We had 1 lone Cedar Waxwing sitting in the top of a tree in our yard one time - by the time we could grab the camera he or she was long gone.
Always hoped they'd return, but no luck so far.
