Pileated Woodpecker - sign of spring??

Not sure if this is a sign of spring or not, but after digging and eating for a while he went to a hollow tree and started drumming - letting everyone know HE was back.  :D

Well time will be set forward this week I think so yes spring is here.

Nice catch. Hopefully this tree will be the nest and you will have great photo ops from below of the kiddies etc.

Nice pics.  You do see woodpeckers all year round but yeah the nestbuilding is a good sign.
