Lithuania Coopers are back, and it's renovation season.
Saw my first stick being transported in the direction of the nest on March 13, other building supplies since.
Today Mr. and Mrs.found a perch in the tree closest to the house (red or sour cherry).  They have sat separately & together there since at least 10:00 am when I first noticed the female.  Male just left.  They must have been having quiet time.  It's easy to take their pics from the house when they're still like that--as long as you like a branch across the female's head.
Sometimes I see some juncos on the bird feeder (niger seed & black sunflower), & the occasional house sparrow.  I will have to take it on faith that my yard displays biodiversity, with the apex predator and all, because I'm certainly not seeing many different kinds of birds.

We have a lone TV soaring around....with temps hovering at zero and below, these guys can't be relying on temps to tell them when to come back.
