Sorry Folks, I have to hit and run.  I met some wonderful birders today that pointed me in the right direction... Thanks guys!

Here are the highlights of my day in chronological order.  Some old and some new.  Enjoy

Red-bellied Woodpecker - 2013-04-09 James Gardens

Winter Wren - 2013-04-09 James Gardens

Cooper's Hawk - 2013-04-09 James Gardens

Turkey Vulture - 2013-04-09 James Gardens - New one for me.

Red-tailed Hawk - 2013-04-09 James Gardens -  Couldn't help it, it's my favorite.

Belted Kingfisher - 2013-04-09 James Gardens - Again, it was far across the river.

Black-crowned Night-Heron - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park

Eastern Phoebe - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - A new one for me.

American Kestrel - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park

Golden-crowned Kinglet - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - Finally, one that sat still for a second.

Yellow bellied Sapsucker - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - My second time spotting one, so it still feels new.

Northern Flicker - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - New one for me but couldn't get close enough.

Yellow-rumped Warbler - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - New one for me

Brown Creeper - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park

Tree Swallow - 2013-04-09 Col Sam Smith Park - New one as well.

Thx for watching

Congratulations Palo on your first warbler (?)  Great pictures.

We are glad you found "the other half" of Sam Smith's yesterday.  Great meeting you.

Great pictures, I guess I will have to try James Gardens again, you got 2 of the birds I have been looking for.  I just can't seem to get anywhere even close to a kingfisher and it is a long time since I have seen a red headed woodpecker while I have had a camera.

Whoa nice haul man!  Ok now that I finally have the Brown Creeper, I've gotta get that Wren.  I guess James Gardens it is.

Thx for the huge help!  Yes, it's my first warbler... I wouldn't have found it otherwise!  It was a pleasure to meet you also, I hope to see you again soon.

Thx Andy. This is only the second time I've seen the Kingfisher there in about three months.  However, there were actually two that day fishing together, so maybe they'll stick around for a while.

As for the Red-bellied Woodpecker, this one is always at the same location... near the Duck pond by the parking lot. ;)  You'll hear him first, he's always calling and just follow the song.  Failing that, continue walking further south along the trail just pass the public bird feeder, take your time, you'll bound to run into a couple more.  Last count for us was four of them.

Thx Rotarren, this Wren was a little further south along the same trail. There's a small stream crossing it with a small wooden bridge.  It was right under that bridge.  You'll have to get there fairly early though, before the area gets a lot of traffic... people, dogs e.t.c.  Let me know when you're going.
