Had an encounter with a cute Raccoon not far from where I saw the Sandhill Crane at Grass Lake.

When he realized I spotted him, he sought safety in a tree:

I didn't want to terrorize him for too long so I took only a few pics.  Hope the cute bugger got down fine.  He was more brown that I was accustomed to...the ones I see in Toronto seem more grey/black/white.

Yeah I understand.  But they're just animals trying to survive.  They mean no harm nor have the capacity to understand what they're doing is irritating or destructive.  Besides, we have taken away much of their habitat and then we call them a nuisance.  It's like being invaded by aliens and they take over our planet and reduce our numbers to mere hundreds of thousands and then call us a nuisance as we're just trying to survive, to find some shelter and some food.

I'm not harping on you, just in general trying to provide some perspective.

Seems like a country coon...not one of them big city coons...a big city coon would have mugged you and jacked you car. That David Suzuki fella reckons the city coons are a whole lot smarter than their country cousins.
