I was at Downsview Park at 9:00 am today (when the weather was just awful) and I was quite surprised to see the "lake" with a nice selection of water birds - cormorants, and maybe a pair of common goldeneyes (which seems possible looking at other reports from the last couple of weeks). I also saw my first killdeers of the year, another sign of spring. It looks great, and despite the cold and wind the trees were alive with birdsong - most uplifting.
