The rain last night helped manufacture a good fall out of mixed warblers and other migrants in Taylor Creek Ravine this morning. I took a short walk past the parking lot on the west end of the ravine, up to the meadow that holds part of the Raised Wetlands installation. Some of the warblers I saw included black throated green, black throated blue, blackburnian, black poll, common yellow throat, and many yellow rumped. Along with the warblers were large flocks of gold finches on the ground and of blue jays overhead. A few bonuses were a pair of immature yellow bellied sapsuckers, a male rose breasted grosbeak, a blue headed vireo, an eastern phoebe, and one brilliantly yellow scarlet tanager.
