Osprey Jr's lesson for the day.

I took these this morning.Just a few of a whole series of about 20 photos. I caught the male returning to the nest where he promptly kicked the female out so that the lesson could commence. I just picked a few photos  out of the many 'lessons' that took place.    I personally like the shot where they are both looking out of the nest, just imagining what thoughts junior would be having. :lol:
Sorry the quality isn't better but the sky was a bright hazy.

I don't think junior is a junior. Way too early. Both birds have the eye color of adults.
Osprey breed in Canada between April and September. Their eggs are incubated for about 40 days. Chicks fledge in Mid-July when they are about 2 months old, however they remain close to the nesting site for another three weeks or so dependent on the parents for food.


Awesome shots and story though. Keep an eye on that nest it should provide some great photo opps going forward.

Now that Meghan has showed me the errors of my conclusions  :oops: ; can anybody suggest as to why there were two adult males in the nest with the adult female? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated as usual.
