After a pretty quiet winter I now have a pair of cardinals, at least two pairs of goldfinches, a pair of house finches, a pair of chipping sparrows, a white throated sparrow, lots of house sparrows, a few robins, a cottontail rabbit (I think) and a bunch of chickadorks(!) trying to wreck my hummingbird feeder! :)

I think they are distant relatives of the red breasted nutcase! (they haven't returned yet!) :)

A pair of red winged blackbirds just dropped by, another first for me (at my feeder that is!) and the white crowned sparrows have arrived...but no hummingbirds since May 7, I guess the females are late! :)

I know they will probably leave soon but I've really enjoyed watching about half a dozen white crowned sparrows hanging around under my feeder, waiting for the overflow produced by the birds that do go to the feeder. The grass has grown since they arrived so most of the time all I see is a bunch of white stripes bobbing up and down! Funny to watch!...was chatting with someone who lives in Uxbridge and has 4 hummingbird feeders - lots of activity but still NO females.
