There was light rain in the wet woods today from 9:30-12.  Seemed like ideal bird watching conditions, but the woods were slow.  I saw a European Goldfinch flitting around with a male and female American Goldfinch on the Unwin side of the wet centre area of the woods.  In the centre wet area of tall trees, down in the watery muck at ground level, I saw a Northern Waterthrush.  Birds of interest were:

Caspian Tern (flyover)
Least Flycatcher
Warbling Vireo
Catbird
Mockingbird
Thrasher
Gnatcatcher
Nashville
Yellow
Yellow Rump
Black and White
Northern Waterthrush
White Crowned
European Goldfinch

I heard but could not locate a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak.

Thanks for the report.  The European Goldfinch is likely the same bird was seen about a month ago by other birders at the wet woods and I saw it at Ashbridges Bay about 10 days ago.  In both cases he was seen hanging out with American Goldfinches.  It's good to hear he's doing well. :)
