Last Saturday, after a slow day on the Island, I wondered if Spring Migration 2013 might be over soon.  Well, this may be true, but today I had my best Toronto birding day to date this Spring.  I birded the Wet Woods from 10-1:30 and got 16 species of Warblers and a few other delights.  Highlights were Yellow-Throated Vireo, Philadelphia Vireo, a probable Gray Cheeked Thrush, Mourning Warbler, Canada Warbler, and Lincoln’s Sparrow.  Most of these were in “the hollow,” in the NW corner of the woods near Unwin.  The rest were in the very wet, very centre section of the woods.

A list of goodies included:

Least Flycatcher
Yellow Throated Vireo
Philadelphia Vireo
Warbling Vireo
Gray Cheeked Thrush (to the best of my ID-ing ability)
Hermit Thrush
Catbird
Cedar Waxwing
Parula
Yellow
Chestnut-Sided
Magnolia (including a few juveniles/immatures)
BT Blue (female)
Yellow-Rump
BT Green (female)
Blackburnian
Bay-Breasted (male and female)
Blackpoll
Redstart (more females than males)
Ovenbird
Mourning
Common Yellowthroat
Wilson’s
Canada
Lincoln’s
Swamp
Baltimore
Orchard (female)
