On my deck at 7.14 this morning I was as usual having my morning coffee and toast - when this very welcome chap showed up. He has been back a number of times since.

A very nice start to the day!

Cool! Do you have perches where he can sit between feedings? When my neighbour trimmed a tree I grabbed some branches  and laid them out in the backyard for picture taking. Yesterday evening and early this morning he sat quietly between feedings and I was able to get quite close. Unfortunately the light was low so I didn't get many (any?) keepers but he's fun to watch anyway.

Yes there are any number of choices provided by the many trees and shrubs including a number I have put around using branches from pruning last year. Now I just have to try and locate where he might be resting!!

Nice Gary!!
Finally? really??..it's still really early. Some people don't manage "finally" till right before these beauties leave. So you have loads of time still. Well done..Once they have a preferred perch they tend to use the same one all the times they are in your backyard.
They'll just go back and forth from the feeder to "their" perch.
Good luck with them. You'll be both frustrated and enchanted by them..sometimes more of the former than the latter  :D

Awesome, you need to have a breakfast birding party LOL!
Your deck seems to have a wonderful variety.

Thanks folks for you kind comments. Since this I have had irregular visits but none have actively fed - just buzz around for a while and take off elsewhere.  :?
