Hey..

I've got both Red and white Nutties at my feeder still!!

The Bleu (sic) Jays are still  around..

While I am typing a red Nuttie just landed on the deck by the door ??

I was reading on Rec.birds that there is an eruption of Red Nuthatches this year into the Northern States...

I didn't have any here last year...

They seem to be almost tame, flying withing a few feet of me while standing on the deck. The White Nuthatch

that is hanging around landed on the feeder while I was putting seed into it.. last week..

(black oil seeds only in feeder)

Napper:))

Spotted a Coopers hawk yesterday flying over the house into the Neighbourhood...

I forgot to mention the Downy Woodpecker at the feeder
 :D

I've had a good amount of nuthatches this fall.  They will eat from your hand just like a chickadee.

We had a Red Breasted Nuthatch around the feeders on the weekend. This is the first time I have seen them in Grimsby. Last fall, winter, and spring we only had occasional visits from the White Breasted Nuthatches.

We have had both a red breasted and a white breasted at our downtown Toronto feeder, although the white breasted comes far more regularly.
