I posted a report about a good sized flock of Chimney Swifts along Scarlett Road feasting the other night over the Humber River. I thought this was a cool image I got of one thanks to the moon.

Great capture, and good report, nice to know they are around, we have some down here in South Etobicoke but I can't figure out for the life of me where they are roosting.

Thanks! I am thinking of trying it again very soon with the full moon this week; gotta see what is the clearest night and if the birds will be feasting there at dusk as well.

I think it would be pretty hard to replicate the perfect timing in the picture from the OP, but good luck... 8-)

Thanks! Its just fun going out and trying again regardless. And when there are a good number like this, just watching them NOT through the lens for a while is awesome.
I found the birds about 1/2 km south of the river last night. The moon was too low. I watched them and some Cedar Waxwings catching bugs in the air. And within 10 minutes all the Swifts disappeared to their roost somewhere in my area. Be great to find it one of these nights.
