More unidentified Dragonflies

I was in Edmonton working at a trade show from August 12th to 22nd and of course took my camera with me because I did have some free time to indulge myself.

On one of my outings I came across this Dragonfly. I admit I am being lazy and haven't fully searched my new Dragonfly book yet, but if this is a Western Dragonfly of some sort it isn't going to appear in my Eastern Dragonfly book. Does anyone know what Dragonfly this is?

I don't know the western species (I have enough trouble with the eastern ones!   ), but it looks like one of the Whitefaces (Leucorrhinia sp.).  That's just my impression from the general shape and markings (despite the lack of a white face).

Nice pics !! I just wanted to add that we had approx 50 or so couples hovering together a week ago at the park behind my place and I never saw them here before. Ever.  I also do not see bats at night, and there used to be much.

These dragon-flies were fairly large too, I love to watch them up close, and think they may be the most amazing of fliers.  also, saw my 1st grasshopper yesterday.
