Hummingbird activity late today

So, I'm not used to this much Hummingbird activity in the yard ever.  And late this afternoon I come home after 3 days away to one out back at the feeders.  I'm not certain if it's the same one from earlier last week or not; looks the same (female) but who knows?

It's September 22.  It's 7:25pm, its +9c and almost dark...  and she's still quite present out there, going from the cedar tree and an open branch I might add, back to the feeder, back to the branch, back to the feeder.  It strikes me odd since there are no other birds around at this time of the evening, and the regular Cardinal pair just had their feed and left.  People say to still expect Hummers at this time of year but her actions seem odd to me regardless.

Makes sense but with it so cool and the sun had set, it was bizarre to me.

Thanks for your input.

I don't think the young birds fly at night so if you're up early tomorrow check the feeder because she'll probably still be around, for a while anyway before she finally leaves for good.

Its shortly after 7am, up and changed the water, coffee brewing, keeping an eye open (the other one still wants to sleep...  lol).  See how it goes, updates later if I see her.

I had one around this morning, was away all afternoon and she was here when I returned home so I fully expect her to show up tomorrow (Tuesday) morning - guess I'll be refilling the feeder after all!
