Good morning..

This morning started out with lots of activity in my yard..During a  commercial break in the F-1

program I was watching I guess around 8:30 am I stepped outside to have a look.

I don't think I have ever seen this may birds out there.  Five or six Doves, two robins, four

Goldfinches, a whole wak of Chirpies along with House finches, grackles and Redwinged black

birds. I went back to the race and came out a while later and found 10 brown headed cowbirds

in the tree both males and females.  With my program now over I started some computer

maintenance tasks which takes hours escpecially with my kids all online. At 11:00 am stepped

outside to a wall of sound, all alarm calls and a heap of feathers under my tree. The feathers

seemed to belong to a mourning dove. I have been watching this scenario unfold since March,

A Coopers hawk will make a pass and everthing goes quiet. In the recent weeks I have

spotted Grackles attempting to chase away the hawk. I think the Hawk has been successfull at

hunting in my yard for the first time. The feathers are now quikly disappearing by way of

House sparrow.. I assume for nesting material..
