We sighted this White-faced Meadowhawk Dragonfly near the Rose Garden at Rosetta McClain Park here in Toronto.  Unlike the dozens of Twelve-spotted Skimmer & Green Darner Dragonflies we sighted flying in the park, this was the only White-faced Meadowhawk we spotted.

Could very well be a White-faced Meadowhawk  but......the only way to really tell the difference between a Cherry -faced, White-faced and a Ruby Meadowhawk is to catch it and look at its appendages with a 15X hand lens. The three species are nearly identical; I spent the last four summers catching these at many dragonfly counts and surveys. This is the only way to tell them apart. Nice shot!
