Went to Downsview in search of snowy owls; there were quite a few hawks flying around and also perching on tree branches - however, didn't see any owls. Took a few photographs of the Kestrels. Later in the afternoon went to Lynde Shore in search of the star attraction - Mandarin Duck; no luck. Mr. Duck was a no show. Visited Halls Road - saw a whole bunch of the regulars including Downy Woodpecker, White Throated Sparrows, Tree sparrows, white breasted nuthatch (a lifer for me), Blue Jays, Cardinals, Doves, Juncos, a couple of hawks that appeared to be Coopers and herds of deer and turkey vultures crossing the road. All in all it was quite a nice outing.
