Spotted a mature eagle perched in the vicinity of the original nest...so it appears they remained in the area.

I was lucky to find one on Wolfe Island.

We had a nest blow down last spring -- egg was lost. They didn't rebuild at that time in the same stand of woods but I did spot a pair feeding on a roadkill deer a month or so back -- in response to you wondering if your pair would stick around.
I have learned that chicken barns are great places to spot bald eagles...if anyone feels the urge to tell me why please....shhhhhhhh

Nest has been rebuilt at a lower level, according to a fellow bird watcher, making it impossible to see outside the fenced in area at this time of year.

Spotted the new smaller nest about a hundred meters south of the original, with a couple of eagles in and around it. Trees have been cut down near the road which should help in making the nest visible, after the foliage comes in.

They can be surprisingly sensitive to people around the nest...when we had a nest, I did make a trip to it to take pix and the parents were flying around me and were calling out so I snapped quickly and got out of there....more out of concern for my safety than consideration for the poor parents....afterwards I reflected on their sensitivity....the nest was quite high up and I was perhaps 150 m or so from the base of the tree.
