I really intended to do a lot more bird watching, but spent most of my time snorkeling or sitting at the pool bar.  Now I need to find a good underwater camera, apparently there are way more fish than birds and the coral reefs are amazing.  Here are a few pictures of some of the birds I did see.

The Doctorbird (National Bird of Jamaica)  This is the one bird I really wanted to see and I am so glad I got a good picture.

The tail on these little birds is amazing.

All the locals gave me a different name for this bird, I think it may be an Aztec Thrush

?? Hummingbird ??

Black Crowned Night Heron, much harder to find than the ones under the Queen Street Bridge.

Great Egret

Snowy Egret

Cattle Egret

Great Egret

Little Egret

Female Frigatebird

Male Frigatebird

?? Gull ??

Please feel free to make any corrections or fill in the blanks.

Thanks thouc, at first I thought it might be a Mockingbird, but didn't think they migrated that far south, I guess I was hoping it was something I hadn't seen before.

Northern Mockingbirds (of a different subspecies) live in Jamaica year around.
