4 Hawks visiting the backyard this winter makes for some difficult "project feeder watch" counts and enjoying the birds is brief and sporadic.  But I'm still making the best of it.

The Red-tails courting has amped up in recent weeks and we've lost a few Squirrels this winter.  I found another foot and tail the other day.

This Coopers walked the fence rail the other day, scoping our discarded Christmas tree laying out back (the Juncos and House Sparrows use it for shelter and cover).  We watched the Hawk look at the tree from many angles, trying to scope out his next meal.

My Pigeon pals have become a lot wiser this winter, or more skittish.  Nice to see my bud Pierre is still with us over a year and a half later, ever since the day he walked up our deck stairs and jumped into the laps of my wife and I.  It seems Pierre has got a little friend here (Pierre is on the left).  Pierre and I were on Global news a few weeks back.  The link is still online if anyone wants to give it a view...  http://globalnews.ca/video/1098274/this ... -the-birds

This bird has been around for about 3 years now and comes for a feed on occasion.  I know Pigeons aren't high on most peoples list, but I think it's pretty cool to have them with us.  They roost down Scarlett Road in the high rises and only come here for a feed, a bath and then are gone again.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.
