On March 17 during one of my trips to Downsview Park, I took photo#1 below; at that time I thought the hawk was carrying a squirrel tail. Then on March 30 at the same park I took photos 2-4. I think these are photos of the same hawk. A closer look at these photos revealed that this hawk had something tied around his foot; most likely some kind of rope. Not sure how he got it. However, the deterioration of the rope in latter pictures is an encouraging sign. Hope it has gotten rid of his 'ornament' by now.
