The Saw-whet was on the ground underneath a fir tree. It was a lot darker under there than what you see here. It was sitting still, no pecking going on, so I didn't think much of it at the time. I  did not realize what I had until I got home and downloaded the shots. No idea what kind of bird the meal is.

Is it a robin? Very nice pictures by the way. I've never seen an owl on the ground.

Henrique, I think you are right about the bird being a Robin. When I look at the high-res image it seems to fit.
