I've yet to find the source, a Flicker or Woodpecker is making a constant loud mid pitched drumming sound that is echoing down the street.
I also spotted a black bird that sounds just like this guy.

Could it be a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker? We have a pair that have moved into our backyard this spring for the first time. Your description of constant drumming sounds familiar.
