Hi everyone. My mom was visiting today, we got out for a nature walk from 10am - 12:30pm and walked at the following parks:
1. Lake Aquitaine (SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Aquitaine Ave., behind the Meadowvale Community Centre). Sighted the following from 10-10:30am:
Canada Geese
Downy Woodpecker (male)
Grackles
House Sparrows
Mallards
Mourning Doves
Red-winged Blackbirds
Robins
Other: Cabbage White butterfly and Midland Painted turtle basking on a log, enjoying today's awesome sunny weather!

Also sighted large bright orange Goldfish at the NW corner, swimming close to the small dam.
2. Plowman's Park (SE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Battleford Rd. - trails runs South from behind the seniors building). Sighted the following from 10:30-11:00am:
Blue Jays
Cardinals
Goldfinches
Grackles
House Sparrows
Mourning Doves
Red-winged Blackbirds
Robins
Other: Cottontail Rabbit and Red Squirrel.
3. Lake Wabukayne (NE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Windwood Dr., behind the condo and school). Sighted the following from 11:00am-12:00pm:
Blue Jays - including 20 flying by heading towards Toronto
Canada Geese
Cardinals
Kinglets
Mallards
Mourning Doves

Scarlet Tanagers x 2 (males) ... Wow!
Other: I was NOT happy to see the following ... the beautiful wooden dock at SW corner of lake/park has been removed and replaced with low boulders and gravel pathway. Ugh!
