Yesterday morning I went to G Ross Lord park around 7:30am for about three hours and was treated to some great sightings. I'm still relatively new to birding in parks so there was quite a few first time sightings that really excited me. I saw most of them by the little open area near the 3rd parking lot Here is my list of highlights from yesterday.
House Wren
Black-capped Chickadees
Blue-gray gnatcatcher (first time)
Gray Catbirds
Northern Mockingbird (first time)
European Starlings
2 adult geese with 8 little baby geese
American Tree Sparrows
Common Yellowthroat (first time - apparently the first sighting on eBird as well for this location)
Yellow Warblers
Mallards
Chestnut-sided warblers
Black-throated green warbler
Scarlet Tanager (first time - such a beautiful, vibrant orange-red. got a good 30 second look at it through the binoculars)
Cardinals
Red Winged blackbirds

Then this morning i took a little walk through the ravine at Bestview Park near Leslie and Steeles for about an hour or so and was treated to another couple firsts.
Lots of Blue Jays
Black and White Warbler (first time)
Nashville Warbler (first time)
Cardinals
3 or 4 Indigo Buntings singing and chasing eachother around (first time)
American Goldfinch
All in all a great couple days for me
