Redstarts x many (juvie males included)
magnolia m and female
bay breasted
common yellowthroat
parula

but today's best find? a woodcock eating 10 feet from me in the edge of the woods. a bunch of us watched it eat, sleep and preen. it didn't give 3 poops that we were there.

A nice surprise today (in addition to Richard's sleepy Woodcock) was a Black-billed Cuckoo. Found in the central woods around 1 pm, moving around a lot then eventually flying towards the west side. Here are a few more birds to add to the list, including a good variety of flycatchers. -kris

Indigo Bunting
Savannah Sparrow
Lincoln's Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Great-crested Flycatcher
Eastern Wood-Pewee
Willow Flycatcher
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher
Least Flycatchers (nesting)
Philadelphia Vireo
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Orange-crowned Warblers (2 in the north/east corner towards the lake side along the fence line)
Black-throated Blue
Wilson's
Mini kettle of 4 Turkey Vultures! (likely fresh arrivals heading north)

I hate to appear totally ignorant, but would someone please clue me in as to where the Wet Woods are?  Are you referring to the woods just off of Unwin Avenue or somewhere on the Leslie Street Spit?

thank you so much.  I had not seen that detailed map of the Spit before.  It is very helpful.
